Spreading the Word

By BJ Lawson, on Jul 26, 2010

It was a very busy weekend! On Saturday we attended the Flapjack Festival, a fundraiser for the Young Republicans. Then the team headed out to knock on over 2,000 doors this weekend all over the district and continue to support the NC Victory Campaign with over 400 calls.  All of our events are a tremendous success thanks to our awesome corps of volunteers.

This upcoming weekend again we have a full schedule of events: a walk in every county and need your help distributing our door hangers and continuing to identify unaffiliated voters with phone calls at the NC Victory Campaign office in Raleigh. We'd also love your help with event support, handing out materials to potential supporters!

If you are interested contact join online to get your name on the list as a volunteer!

Tonight: Constitutional Freedom Alliance:
This is going to be a blast! Please join me at 7:00pm as I have the pleasure of being invited to speak at the Constitutional Freedom Alliance meeting at the Radisson RTP hotel.  The Constitutional Freedom Alliance (CFA) is a group of ordinary citizens driven to promote and restore individual freedom within the United States of America.  This is going to be a great event to meet fellow liberty lovers, please wear your Lawson gear and volunteer to hand out materials and represent our campaign! RSVP here.

Mon. & Wed. Phone-banking

We are continuing to have a strong showing at the Victory Campaign in Raleigh but we need to build on our success.  We are currently the top campaign participating in the program state-wide, a huge accomplishment indeed. Please help us continue our efforts and volunteer a couple hours a week to call people on behalf of our campaign. This data is critical to our campaign strategy!  We are looking for people who can spare 2-3 hours every week to help us with calls.  Our goal is to have at least 4 people Mondays from 10am-1pm and Wednesdays from 1-4pm.  Email Mary with the day and time you are available to make calls.  This is a great way to help the campaign touch a lot of people while staying cool on a hot day!

Thursday: Materials Assembly
If you can't walk then consider helping us assemble the door hangers Thursday afternoon from 1-4pm.  Please join online or email Mary if you are interested in assembling hangers.

Thursday: Meet the Candidate
I'm always interested in talking one on one with constituents! I learn so much from you and can dive into much greater detail on the issues. Come out to Loco Lu's Coffeehouse for captivating conversation over a cup of brilliantly brewed coffee!

Saturday: Door to Door
We meet at 9:30am and walk from 10-1pm.  Join online or email Mary if you are interested in walking with us this weekend in southern Orange county, southern Durham county, Cary, or Chatham county.

Other Upcoming Events
We have a variety of events going on this week such as a townhall tonight and Last Fridays in Hillsborough. Visit the calendar on the website to learn more about these events.

New in the Lawson Store
Lastly, we are excited that so many of you have signed on to check out the Lawson for Congress store.  We are selling magnetic door panels, coffee mugs, shirts, and oval car magnets.  Also we are happy to announce that the window perfs are ready! Please call Lisa or Kay at Signs Now in Morrisville, 919-463-0400 to schedule a time to have yours put on.

If you are interested in helping us as volunteer staff with any of the above activities, please contact Mary at:
