Russ and I would like to introduce you to a friend B.J. Lawson who is running for U. S. Congress here in the 4th District. B.J. and Russ met when B.J. was a medical student and Russ was in his last few years of Neurosurgery training at Duke. B.J. completed medical school and then started surgery residency. Despite a calling into medicine, he saw an opportunity to address fundamental inefficiencies in our healthcare system, so he left residency in 2001 to start a medical software company that gave physicians portable access to patient information.
